Tonight was a Mexican Fiesta fajita night. And shush...we have real plates, we just don't use them. That requires washing and stuff.
Everything around here is low sodium for health reasons but it's super yummy no matter how you slice it. Salt is totally over-rated. Seriously, knock it out of your diet and you'll have more energy, feel less bloated, hear better, and be less likely to have heart issues. Sounds like a plan yes?
Low sodium Mexican Fiesta night is easy peasy. Here are some recipe ideas for you!
The meat. Tonight was flank steak marinated in a no sodium sauce and simmered to perfection.
Low (no) sodium marinade:
- 1/4 cup Canola Oil
- Juice from 1 lemon or lime (your choice depending on your taste)
- 1 tspn ground cumin
- 1 tspn minced garlic
- 1 tspn garlic powder (not salt for goodness sake)
- 5 dashes hot sauce
Great sides are a must! We had refried beans and Ike's Famous Guac Recipe! Nom, nom, nom! You should totally check that out and try it for yourself!
Perfect dinner. Low sodium. And oh-so-delicious! Try it, you'll like it. And your sodium level will thank you too!
And don't bother using the "real" plates. Nobody cares about those. It's all about the food and this food was some kind of awesome!

Sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteI am not a guac person because it sort of resembles something that comes from... well, you know. I do agree with you on salt not being needed in our food.
ReplyDeleteYou like poop too much. ;)
