That's "him". The man I love! He's an outdoors man in a way. He loves to fish. He likes guns but not hunting. He's a city boy, born and raised. So what happens when you take a city boy out to the country for the weekend?
A Texan in tennis shoes with a gun and a hound dog...that's what you get! I love this picture for so many reasons. Maybe not the best shot, but I love the expression on his face. And I love that he's diggin' the country lifestyle that I grew up in. Not there, in po-dunk Texas (and believe me, this was po-dunk even to me) but it's not far off the mark from how I grew up!
I love this man, I loved getting back to my roots away from the bright lights big city that we currently live in, and I enjoyed our weekend in the country. I just wish the Internet didn't suck so hard.
The island is our home and I can't wait to get back to that again, but visiting the country now and again is cleansing. Always good to step back and cleanse, even if you wear tennis shoes (or flip flops like me).

I grew up in the country so I can relate to you. I miss 'roughing' it all of the time!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the country as well. BUT, give me the city any day! lol
ReplyDeleteNoooooo, the city is BAD! ;)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you grew up in the country. Hmmm...I learn something new everyday!
ReplyDeleteYep! I was a hiker, camper, hunter, etc child. That all goes away when you marry an IT nerd. :/
ReplyDeleteI am a city girl but want to live in up the hills. One day...
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't have to go away. We're a tech family living out in the country. Hubby even works from home doing tech support.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't like the country. 'Roughing it' to him is a motel. :(
